The History of UI Design

For this project, I was tasked with redesigning an existing website focused on the history of UI design. The redesign was to be inspired by a user persona of my choice, with both mobile and desktop views specifically tailored to meet the needs and preferences of that persona.

My user persona, Lily James is a creative and curious 6-year-old from Boston who dreams of becoming an art teacher. She loves animals, science, drawing, and spending time with her parents. Highly independent and organized, Lily shows OCD-like tendencies finding comfort in routine and keeping her belongings in a specific order. Though sensitive, she often hides her emotions to maintain a sense of control. She enjoys supportive friendships but prefers solving problems on her own. Lily values kindness and thrives in environments that balance independence with emotional support.

To effectively cater to the needs of my chosen persona, I made intentional design choices that emphasized cleanliness, simplicity, structure, and visual rhythm. At the same time, I incorporated a fun, youthful tone through color and the use of simplified and concise text.
